Chin Up, Soldierby *oomizuao

a sketch I did this week, one night when I just felt inspired to draw. This drawing was actually inspired by the song "Zombie" by The Pretty Reckless, a song that my little sister showed me.

The whole "chin up, soldier," is something Spike gets told in my story at some point. It means that things can't stay bad forever, because every cloud has its silver lining, you know? And the addition of the word 'soldier' is just to emphasize that Spike is a strong person who's been fighting this battle for so long..
I dunno just how to explain it, that little sentence, and I'm not sure it needs much explanation either..?

So, myeah.. I'm sorry about the grainy-ness in this.. I used my cellphone as a scanner since I didn't bring one with me this week...

But I think it sort of adds to the whole rough feel I wanted in this... c:

The grainyness is bad scanning? I actually thought it was intentional because the lightest part is where the words are. :'D It seems like a "memory filter" if that makes sense.
