Spike plushie - For Sale! by oomizuao Spike plushie - For Sale! by oomizuao
Alright, alright...
Since the price apparently was too steep and I figure that would definitely be a dealbreaker for you guys for future plushies, I have a price suggestion:

65 dollars, including shipping to worldwide!
Yes, shipping is actually quite expensive, I know this from previous shipments I've made.
that means the plushie will cost 45 US dollars.

I will not go any lower, because fabric here in Norway is expensive...
I paid well over 65 dollars for the materials and fabric I purchased to make these, and most of it wasn't even in full yards.

So, 45 dollars for this and future plushies.
65 dollars including shipping.
That's my final offer.

I already have a few people interested, so there will be a raffle to decide who gets to buy this one - as I want it to be as fair as possible. :aww:
I'll close the sale by midnight, Norwegian time. If you're interested, send me a note.

I think I've settled with a price now that I find reasonable, and hopefully you will too.
I've taken into consideration what I paid for the materials, how long I spent making it, and I've tried coming up with the lowest price that I was comfortable with.

I want 65 US dollars for him (85 US dollars including shipping to worldwide).
I personally feel that's the lowest I can go.
So, I hope there's still someone interested in buying this little fella :aww: The money will go to purchasing more fabric in different colors, so that I can make other plushies too, like Sam and Lillith.
Just so you know they won't be wasted on candy and booze :XD: (not that I drink, though..)

I hope the price isn't too steep...

Just to let you know, there will be more plushies made. So this isn't the only one I'll be selling, but if this one gets sold it opens some doors for me to afford making more of these..!
The price will be the same on the other ones.

Some info about the plushie itself:

He's 20 cm tall, is made primarily out of grey and white Minky fabric (faux fur) and black Luxury Shag (also faux fur) for his hair. His eyes are 12mm sized buttons, and his nose is made of cotton fabric.
He's very soft and cuddly, and his hair is easy to style - no hair gel needed ;)
(Do not give to young children, as the button eyes could prove hazardous if they get torn off and swallowed. This plushie is meant as more of a collectible than a children's toy.)

More photos can be found here: [link]

If you're interested, NOTE me! :)
If more than one person is interested, there will be a raffle to decide as fairly as possible who will get to buy it (due to different time zones it would be unfair if the first one to note me gets to buy it, you know? ^^; )

:D Say. In the future if you want fabric I could ship some to you. I'm in the US, fabrics are a little cheaper here and I could just ship you it in return for one or two of these guys haha. Well, depending on how much shipping would be haha. I'd love one of these guys but I don't have a paypal.

have you thought about buying fabrics from out of Norway? I'm totally agreeing with you about the price and even am shocked you'd go that low. But maybe there's easier and cheeper ways to get the same fabric? idk if i'm even making sense XD love your plushie :3

I can understand why the price is high. Material is expensive, he's currently one of a kind, you live in Norway and you have a massive following and interested buyers living in other countries, so of course demand is going to be high.

Sadly, I can't afford him as much as I'd like to, but I understand both sides here. However, most customers don't realise how much money goes into the production of some plushies; they're only really interested in how it benefits them. Sad, really.

Good luck in the raffle, everyone!

Hes adorable! The price of fabric might be high but I don't think anyone will be willing to pay 65 dollars for him. He is very well made but its the sort of price you pay for an antique doll or a victorian teddy bear.

Veldig st, men ta oppmot fem hundre norske kroner for en 20 cm hy kosebamse er litt voldsomt i min verden. Det er sikkert noen som er en hardcore nok fan til kjpe ham, men det blir ikke meg, beklager :)

Er thats a really high price for a tiny plushy, I don't doubt the quality, but.. still.
"Do not give to young children, as the button eyes could prove hazardous if they get torn off and swallowed. This plushie is meant as more of a collectible than a children's toy" Thats sort of damaging. A tiny recommendation; use safety eyes, or even Embroid the details in. Apart from that, itlooks great.

Size has no real value in your argument. I wouldnt pay $60 for a giant teddy that was made out of a sake stuffed with toilet paper, sewn with twine. Even if it was as big as a room. However, i WOULD be willing to pay for a handy-sized plushie made out of high quality materials, that was one of a kind, made with love care, and a butt-tonne of hard work, and time
If you have no appreciation for either quality, or how much effort was put into it, i'm not sure why you visited this page at all, let alone left a comment. It's not like this is some mass produced chinese conveyor-belt plushie made for 70 cents

I'm sorry, but I never said anything about size...but okay. I posted that comment before she gave out the prices for the cloth. The cloth she used is nowhere near as expensive in America, and so I couldn't understand why she had such a high price range. Now that she's explained the reason for her high price, I don't have any problems with it. I also know that the only real reason an artist makes something like a doll more expensive than its mass-produced counterpart is because they add the amount of money they spent making the doll + the amount of value it has because of the number of people working on it (in this case, 1). I guess the doll could be considered similar to a small hand-painted statue, but in that case, I still wouldn't pay that much for the statue. I'm piss-poor, and the statue would just be a useless thing that sits on my shelf and looks pretty. Just like the doll. And please, don't assume I don't know anything about quality. I like her art, characters, and story, but the doll would be a waste of my money.

Actually, you did xD
"for something THAT tiny? "

Well, it's obviously not aimed towards her fans that are piss poor (like yourself, and even myself), it's aimed towards her fans that are comfortable and have a bit of money to throw around on things they really like ;3

*facepalm* forgot about that first comment. that was in lieu with the price. Because of the difference between prices in our countries, I was confused as to why something I could make for less than $25 was being sold for $65. but now that I know it cost her that much to make it, I have no complaints.

OMG HE'S NOT WEARING CLOTHING!

...

What? Was I the only one who noticed? XP

He looks really awesome! I like that you kept true to your drawing style with his ears. ^^

(You know, if you made a Sam one, lowered the cost for each as a bundle, I bet it could increase demand. XD)

:XD: lol, yeah well, I tried putting clothes on him, but I think that - in plushie form - he looks cuter without them. ;)

And thanks! There will be a Sam one made, as well as a Lillith one; I've already ordered the needed fabric. And I just lowered the price to 45 dollars for the plushie. 65 including shipping. So hopefully that will attract future customers. ^^;

I agree, actually. He does look adorable. ^^

That sounds awesome! I can't wait to see their designs!

Unfortunately I'm not in a position to buy one right now (though the new price does sound affordable).

Maybe sometime next year I'll be able to purchase one (depending on how long they'll last).
