SPIKE updates: december 2015

This is more of a summary that might answer some very frequently asked questions

I am still working on my SPIKE story. The whole thing is ready inside my head, every key situation figured out. Nowadays I'm working on the timeline, writing down summaries of every key event, more or less important scenes, and everything I know so far on what's going to happen. In short; I'm collecting all the details I know, and putting them in order. Once that timeline is done, I'll write the chapters. Every single one until the whole story is completed. After that, I'll take a break from the story (a month or so I guess - depending on how far along my two year deadline I am), before returning to start editing and writing the final draft.
After that, I'll be ready to send it off to various publishers.
I've given myself a two year deadline to finish the SPIKE story.
According to this count-down app I have, the deadline is November 2nd, 2017. And I feel both ready and motivated to reach that goal.
Giving you the exact date of the deadline now, is sort of my big announcement that I'm gonna do this, and my way of proving both to you guys and myself that I'm 100% serious about this. I can do it! :yes:


Also, every once in a while I get messages concerning the quality of the SPIKE chapter files and how they're difficult to read on handheld devices. I've considered re-uploading the files, but I actually want to do something new for you guys instead..

The chapters I posted here on dA are of the very first SPIKE draft. What I want to do instead of re-uploading the same files, is to upload fresh, new files of the second draft once they're completed.
There will be some minor changes in the story in the second draft, no drastic ones, just minor things that I want to improve and some things that you guys have pointed out and I've come to realise needs to change. So, all in all, the second draft will just be an upgraded, more polished version. Or, look at it this way; the first draft is the rough sketch. The second draft is the lineart and some color work, the third draft is the finished painting.

Speaking of Christmas, I won't be launching my Patreon page before Christmas. I'm thinking more like... february. Christmas takes its toll on everyone's finances, I for one need january to "recover" so with that in mind, I feel december and january wouldn't be a very good time to open a Patreon page. But mid- or late february sounds better I'll keep you guys updated on that too!

Also, sorry for not posting much art anymore  I'm slowly getting back into drawing, but writing and thinking of writing takes up most of my creative time now (which is actually a great thing ). I haven't stopped drawing though, and I'm uploading stuff whenever I have something to upload
